Galleon

Location

The Galleon Gas Field is situated in block 48/20a of the Southern North Sea, east of the Clipper field and west of the Audrey field in the Sole Pit Area. The water depth at this location is approximately 28 meters (or 214 feet).

Operator and Ownership

The field is operated by Shell U.K. Ltd, a subsidiary of Shell plc. The ownership of the field is shared among several companies, including Centrica, Exxon Mobil, Harbour Energy, Shell, and Stadtwerke Munchen.

Production

• The Galleon Gas Field began production in 1994.
• The field produces gas through 18 horizontal wells, which are connected to two unmanned platforms, Galleon PN and Galleon PG.
• Gas from the Galleon field is exported through the Clipper platform and then transported to the Bacton Gas Terminal on the North Norfolk coast.

Infrastructure

• The field uses a minimum facilities wellhead platform (Galleon PN) located on the southeast portion of the field. This platform is remotely controlled from the Clipper Gas Field.
• The gas is processed and transported via the existing infrastructure tied to the Clipper complex.
