Location

• The K05a-B gas field is located approximately 115 kilometres northwest of Den Helder in the Netherlands.

• The field is operated by Total E&P Netherlands.

Production

• Production at the K5A and K5D platforms began in 1994. The field includes several platforms and subsea developments:
  • K5-A: wellhead platform
  • K5-P: production platform
  • K5-D, K5-B, K5-EN-C, and K5-PK: satellite platforms
  • K5-CU: satellite platform located in the adjacent K5b block
  • K4-Z field: consists of a 2-well subsea completion linked to the K5-A platform
  • K5F development: includes two subsea wells and a 10 kilometre long, 20 cm (8 inch) diameter subsea pipeline connected to the K6N satellite platform.

History

• The K4-Z field was discovered in 1974.
• The K5A and K5D platforms were installed, and production started in 1994.
• The K5 EN/C Platform was installed in 1997.
• The K4BE Platform was installed in 2000.
• The K5PK Compression Platform was installed in 2003.
• The K05-F subsea completion was installed in 2008.
• Total acquired Talisman's stake in 2008.
• First gas from the K4-Z field was produced in 2013.

  • Heerema: K5CU Platform & Jacket
  • HSM Offshore: K4BE Satellite Platform, Jacket, Living Quarters & Process Modules; K5PK Jacket; K5PA, K5PD, and K5PP Jackets

  • Seaway Heavy Lifting: K4BE Platform transport & installation; K5 EN/C Platform transport & installation
  • FoundOcean: Grouting for K5CU Platform & Jacket; K5A & K5B riser umbilical supports & ramps.

Geology and Reserves
