K15-FK

Location and Geology

• The K15 gas fields, including the K15-FK platform, are situated in the Netherlands Continental Shelf, specifically in blocks K15 and L13. The water depth in this area is approximately 105 feet.

Operator and Ownership

• The K15-FK gas field is operated by Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM), a Dutch oil and gas company. The field is owned by Energie Beheer Nederland (EBN), Exxon Mobil, and Shell.

Production and Reserves

• The K15-FA conventional gas field, which includes the K15-FK platform, has recovered 96.40% of its total recoverable reserves as of the latest data. Peak production was achieved in 2004. Based on economic assumptions, production is expected to continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2030. The field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the Netherlands' daily gas output.

Infrastructure

• The development of the K15 gas fields includes several platforms:
  • Integrated platforms: K15-FB-1 and K15-FA-1.
  • Satellite platforms: K15-FC-1, K15-FG-1, and K15-FK-1.

History

• Production at the K15 gas fields began in 1977.
• The first satellite platform was installed in 1989.
• The K15-FK-1 satellite platform was added in 2002.
• In 2011, Talisman acquired a share from Vattenfall, although this specific transaction may not directly involve the K15-FK platform.

Contractors and Services

• Saipem was involved in the installation of the sealine from Platform K15 FB to Challantsoog.
• ETPM was responsible for the installation of the K15-FC-1 platform.

Current Status

• The field is still in production, with ongoing operations managed by NAM. The expected end of economic production is projected to be around 2030.
