The Ledong 22-1 Gas Field is situated in the Yinggehai Basin, Western South China Sea. The approximate coordinates are 17.7575, 110.0563.

Operator and Ownership

The field is operated and fully owned by CNOOC Limited (China National Offshore Oil Corporation).

Discovery and Production

• The field was discovered in 1997.

Development Projects

The Ledong 22-1 Gas Field is part of the Dongfang 13-2 complex, which includes the Dongfang 1-1 Gas Field. Recent development projects include:

• The Dongfang 1-1 Gas Field Southeast Zone and Ledong 22-1 Gas Field South Block Development Project, which commenced production ahead of schedule in 2022. This project involves the use of existing processing facilities, the commissioning of four development wells, and the use of two subsea production systems, two mixed transportation pipelines for oil and gas, and two umbilicals.

Production Details

• The projects are expected to reach a peak production of approximately 44 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.

Reserves

• The field has 1P (proven) reserves of 43,104 million cubic meters of gas and recoverable reserves of 25,002 million cubic meters of gas, as of 2007.

Infrastructure

• The major development facilities include an eight-legged platform and 13 production wells. The field is developed jointly with the Ledong 15-1 Gas Field.

Water Depth

• The development projects are located in an area with an average water depth of 90 meters.

Production Systems

• The field utilizes subsea production systems and mixed transportation pipelines for oil and gas. CNOOC Limited has also successfully demonstrated and applied self-developed subsea oil and gas production systems.

Recent Developments

• In 2022, CNOOC Limited announced the smooth commencement of production from the new development projects, which contributed to the company's overall production growth and record-high net oil and gas production.
