- Latitude: -6.3770000
- Longitude: 11.0600000
Location and Geology
- The Marimba oil field is located in Block 15, offshore Angola, in the deepwater region of the Kizomba A, B and Satellites Complex Development Area.
- The field is situated at a water depth of approximately 1,300 meters (4,230 feet).
Operator and Partners
- The Marimba oil field is operated by Esso Exploration Angola (Block 15), which is a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil.
- The field is owned by a consortium that includes BP, Eni, Equinor, Exxon Mobil, and Sonangol EP.
Production
- The Marimba North field began production in 2007, with the field being a tie-back to the Kizomba A development field.
- Production from the Marimba conventional oil field is expected to continue until the field reaches its economic limit, which is projected to be around 2027 based on current economic assumptions.
Infrastructure and Technology
- The field utilizes advanced subsea infrastructure. Saipem was awarded the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract for the installation of subsea lines in 2005.
- The produced oil is treated in a two-stage separation system with two production trains. Gas separated on the automatic separator passes through a boosting system, and the field will also feature a two-phase separation and pumping system, marking a subsea debut for this technology.
Contractors
- Saipem has been involved in the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of subsea lines for the project.
History
- The EPC contract for the subsea lines was awarded to Saipem in 2005.
- First oil from the Marimba North field was achieved in 2007.
