P11b-De Ruyter
- Type: Rig
- field
- Latitude: 52.3690000
- Longitude: 3.3470000
Location and Geography
- The P11b-De Ruyter oil and gas field is located in the North Sea, offshore the Netherlands, specifically in block P11b.
- The field is situated at a water depth of approximately 34 meters (112 feet).
Ownership and Operation
- The field is operated by Dana Petroleum Netherlands B.V..
- The ownership is shared between Dana Petroleum Netherlands B.V. and Energie Beheer Nederland (EBN) B.V., each holding a 50% stake.
Discovery and Production
- The De Ruyter field was discovered in 1996 in blocks P10a and P11b.
- Production began in 2006.
Production Details
- The field currently produces approximately 4,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) and 150,000 cubic meters of gas per day.
- As of 2019, the annual production was around 0.41 million barrels of oil and 9.8 million cubic meters of gas.
- The field has recovered 91.87% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production occurring in 2007. Production is expected to continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2035.
Reserves
- The field has commercial reserves of 14 million barrels of oil and 339.8 million cubic meters of gas as of 2015. Proven extractable resources include 8.96 million barrels of oil and 223.66 million cubic meters of gas as of 2010.
Infrastructure
- The field is developed with a permanently manned De Ruyter platform and a tanker mooring and loading system (TMLS) situated about 1.5 kilometers away from the De Ruyter platform.
- The platform includes facilities for oil separation, power systems, gas handling, and produced water treatment. Oil is stored in a gravity base structure (GBS) before being exported by shuttle tankers via the TMLS.
- Gas from the facility is transported through a 29km-long, 8-inch pipeline to Wintershall’s P12-SW platform and further piped into the Noordgastransport (NGT) gas transportation system via Wintershall’s P6-A platform.
Recent Developments
- The Project Unity gas development, sanctioned in October 2019, involves the development of the Van Ghent East and Witte de With gas reservoirs in the De Ruyter Area. This project includes the installation of a new P11-Unity platform, which will be tied back to the existing De Ruyter platform.
Project Unity Details
- The P11-Unity platform is a tripod-structured platform with conventional piles, featuring a two-deck topside production facility. The platform was installed by the Sleipnir heavy lifting vessel.
- The project includes the installation of a 17km-long, 8-inch gas export pipeline and other utility and control systems.
Contractors and Consultants
- HSM Offshore received the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract for the Project Unity gas development. Heerema Marine Contractors were subcontracted for the transportation and installation of the P11-Unity platform.
- Allseas performed various activities such as pipe-laying operations, cable cutting, and mattress installation for the project.
Economic Contribution
- The P11b-De Ruyter field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the Netherlands' daily oil output.
