- Failed to rendezvous with other submarines on June 23, 1945, and was presumed lost after unsuccessful attempts to contact it.
Cox Oil Project (Project Lochridge)

- Objective:
- To demonstrate the feasibility of transporting and permanently storing CO2 on a commercial scale.
- Scope:
- The project aims to repurpose some of Cox’s offshore assets, including more than 600 wells in 66 fields.
- Involves the construction of a 110-mile CO2 pipeline from Geismar, Louisiana, to Grand Isle, utilizing existing Crescent pipeline rights-of-way.
- Capacity:
- Expected to hold up to 300 million tonnes of CO2.
- Funding:
- Supported by the US Department of Energy (DOE) through its CarbonSAFE program with $8.4 million in funding. Additional funding of $2.1 million from non-DOE sources is also being used.
