Vandumbu Oil Field Profile

Location and Geology

• The Vandumbu oil field is located in Block 15/06, offshore Angola, approximately 350 km northwest of Luanda and 130 km west of Soyo.
• The field is situated in water depths ranging between 1,000 and 1,500 meters.

Operator and Partners

• The operator of the Vandumbu field is Eni S.P.A., with a stake of 36.84%.
• The other partners in the joint venture are Sonangol P&P, holding 36.84%, and SSI Fifteen Limited, with a stake of 26.32%.

Discovery and Production

• The Vandumbu oil field was discovered in 2013 as part of the West Hub Development Project.
• Production from the Vandumbu field began in late November 2018, three months ahead of schedule.
• The first oil was produced through the West Hub N’Goma FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) unit.

Production Capacity

• The ramp-up of the Vandumbu field was expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2019, aiming to achieve a total production of about 170,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd).
• The start-up of the Subsea Multiphase Boosting System (SMBS) and additional wells, such as the VAN-102 well, contributed to this production target, boosting oil production by 20,000 bpd.

Development Strategy

• The development of the Vandumbu field is part of Eni's phased and clustered development strategy for Block 15/06. This strategy has allowed the start-up of eight fields since November 2014, when production from the West Hub started with the Sangos field.
• The field is connected to the N’Goma FPSO, which is central to the West Hub Development Project. This project includes the development of other fields such as Sangos, Cinguvu, Mpungi, Mpungi North, and Ochigufu.

Wells and Infrastructure

• The development of the Vandumbu field involves the drilling of several wells. Specifically, it includes the drilling of three wells: two producers and one water injector.
• The VAN-102 well, which was drilled in the West Hub, achieved a performance of around 13,000 barrels per day.
