Location

The Visund Sør field is located in the northern part of the North Sea, approximately 10 kilometers northeast of the Gullfaks C platform, within blocks 34/8 and 34/7 in the Tampen area.

The water depth at the Visund Sør field is about 290 meters.

Discovery and Development

• The Visund Sør field was discovered in 2008.
• The Plan for Development and Operation (PDO) was approved in January 2011.
• Production commenced in November 2012.

Ownership and Operation

• The field is operated by Equinor Energy AS.

Reservoir Details

• The field produces oil and gas from sandstone reservoirs in the Middle Jurassic Brent Group and the Upper Triassic Statfjord Group.
