Vessel Description

GENOVA is a ro-pax style inter-island ferry operating within the Azores archipelago under the flag of Portugal. Built in 1987 at the Portuguese shipyard ENVC in Viana do Castelo, the vessel has served the inter-island transport needs of the Azorean population for several decades. Operating under Atlânticoline, the regional carrier responsible for maritime connections between the nine islands of the Azores, the vessel provides essential passenger and cargo transport across some of the North Atlantic's more remote island communities. Her relatively shallow draft and moderate size are well suited to the smaller port facilities found throughout the Azorean islands.
