Vessel Description
Mumbai Maersk is a Triple-E class variant container vessel operated by Maersk Line, one of the largest container shipping companies in the world. Built at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea and delivered in 2017, the vessel is among the largest container ships afloat, with a capacity exceeding 20,500 TEU.
The vessel is designed with a focus on economies of scale and energy efficiency, incorporating slow-steaming capability and waste heat recovery systems to reduce fuel consumption and emissions per container carried. Mumbai Maersk operates primarily on the Asia–Europe corridor, one of the world's busiest trade routes, transiting the Suez Canal and calling at major hub ports across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Northern Europe.
The ship flies the Danish flag and is registered under A.P. Møller - Mærsk A/S, reflecting Maersk's longstanding practice of registering its flagship vessels in Denmark.
