Vessel Description
PASILA is a RoPax passenger and cargo ferry operated by Viking Line on the Helsinki–Tallinn route in the Gulf of Finland. Built in 1997 by Kvaerner Masa-Yards at the Helsinki New Shipyard, the vessel was designed for intensive short-sea shuttle service. She features Azipod electric propulsion, which provides enhanced maneuverability in the confined waters of the Gulf of Finland, and is capable of carrying over 2,100 passengers along with road freight on approximately 1,100 lane meters of cargo deck space. As a Baltic Sea ferry operating on a short international voyage route, she is subject to Finnish, Estonian, and IMO SOLAS regulations applicable to that trading area.
