Vessel Description

The Maran Gas Kalymnos is a large LNG carrier owned and operated by Maran Gas Maritime Inc., the LNG division of the Angelicoussis Shipping Group, one of the leading Greek shipping conglomerates. Built at Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea and delivered in 2020, the vessel is among the modern generation of large membrane-type LNG tankers.

The vessel is equipped with GTT Mark III Flex membrane containment technology, providing a cargo capacity of approximately 174,000 cubic metres of liquefied natural gas. This design minimizes boil-off gas and enhances cargo efficiency across long-haul voyages.

Named after the Greek island of Kalymnos — consistent with Maran Gas Maritime's tradition of naming vessels after Greek islands — the ship operates globally, serving major LNG export terminals and receiving terminals across the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas.

As part of a modern, fuel-efficient fleet, the Maran Gas Kalymnos contributes to the growing global demand for cleaner energy transportation, reflecting the strategic expansion of the Angelicoussis Group in the LNG sector.
