Vessel Description

Vision of the Fjords is a purpose-built hybrid-electric passenger excursion vessel constructed by Brødrene Aa Shipyard in 2016 for Fjord1 AS. The vessel was designed specifically to operate in the environmentally sensitive and UNESCO World Heritage-listed Nærøyfjord and Aurlandsfjord areas of western Norway. Built with a lightweight carbon fibre composite hull, the vessel is capable of zero-emission operation through its advanced battery-electric propulsion system supplied by Corvus Energy. The design prioritises minimal environmental impact in protected fjord waters while accommodating up to 400 passengers. Vision of the Fjords received international recognition as a pioneering vessel in sustainable maritime tourism and won the Shippax Ferry Award upon its introduction to service.
