Vessel Description

STORFJORD is a Norwegian passenger and vehicle ferry built in 2011 at Fosen Mek. Verksteder in Norway. Operated by Torghatten Nord AS, the vessel serves coastal ferry routes along the northern Norwegian coastline, providing essential transport links for passengers and vehicles in the Troms and Nordland regions.

The vessel is designed for operation in demanding North Norwegian coastal conditions, including cold-weather and ice-affected waters. With a gross tonnage of approximately 16,151 GT and an overall length of 135 metres, STORFJORD is a mid-to-large sized coastal ferry. Her diesel-electric propulsion system with azimuth thruster technology provides enhanced manoeuvrability, particularly important for frequent port entries on the Norwegian coastal route network.

The vessel operates under the Norwegian flag and complies with Norwegian Maritime Authority (Sjøfartsdirektoratet) regulations as well as applicable IMO requirements for passenger vessels.

Note: Some technical specifications should be verified against current official vessel registers such as DNV Veritas database, Norwegian Maritime Authority records, or Lloyd's Register for the most precise and current data.
