Vessel Description

Ibrahim Karabekir is a Gabya-class (modified Oliver Hazard Perry-class) guided missile frigate serving in the Turkish Naval Forces. The vessel is named after Ibrahim Kâzim Karabekir, a prominent Ottoman and Turkish military commander. As part of the Gabya class, she represents a locally adapted variant of the American FFG-7 Perry-class frigate design, constructed under license and modified to meet Turkish Navy specifications at the Gölcük Naval Shipyard. The vessel is equipped with anti-submarine warfare capabilities, surface warfare systems, and air defense armaments, making her a multi-mission combatant operating across Turkish sovereign waters and broader NATO maritime operational areas.
