Vessel Description

URAGANNYY is a Russian Navy auxiliary tug assigned to the Pacific Fleet, operated under the authority of the Russian Ministry of Defence. Built in 2008 at the Yaroslavsky Shipbuilding Plant, the vessel is a purpose-built azimuth stern drive tug designed for harbour assistance, escort duties, salvage support, and fleet ancillary operations. The ASD configuration provides enhanced maneuverability, making the vessel well suited for assisting larger naval vessels during port entry and departure operations, as well as open-water towing tasks within the Pacific Fleet's area of responsibility. The vessel operates primarily out of Vladivostok and supports Russian naval activities across the Sea of Japan and broader Far East maritime zones.
