Vessel Description

Norwegian Epic is a mega cruise ship operated by Norwegian Cruise Line and one of the largest cruise ships in the world at the time of her delivery. She was constructed at STX Europe's shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, and entered service in June 2010. The vessel features Norwegian Cruise Line's signature Freestyle Cruising concept, offering passengers flexible dining and entertainment options without fixed seating times or dress codes.

The ship introduced several innovative design features at the time of her launch, including a curved hull design, split-level studio cabins designed for solo travelers, and a wide range of onboard amenities including multiple specialty restaurants, entertainment venues, a large casino, spa facilities, and recreational areas. Norwegian Epic features prominent entertainment partnerships and hosted Broadway-style productions and headliner performances in her purpose-built theater and entertainment complex.

Her Azipod propulsion system provides enhanced maneuverability, allowing port access without traditional tugboat assistance in many situations.
