Vessel Description

Paul A. Desgagnés is a Canadian-flagged general cargo vessel operated by Transport Desgagnés Inc., one of Canada's foremost marine transportation companies. Built in 2018 at Chengxi Shipyard in China, the vessel is among the newer additions to the Desgagnés fleet and is designed to operate in the demanding conditions of the St. Lawrence River system and the Canadian Arctic. The vessel plays a key role in resupply missions to remote and northern communities that are otherwise inaccessible by road, delivering essential goods including fuel, food, and construction materials. Her design reflects Canadian regulatory requirements for Arctic and coastal operations, and she is maintained to Transport Canada standards. The vessel is named in honor of Paul A. Desgagnés, continuing the company's tradition of naming vessels after members of the founding Desgagnés family.
