Vessel Description

The C HERO is a U.S.-flagged offshore support and diving support vessel originally built for Cal Dive International, later operating under the Helix Energy Solutions Group umbrella. Constructed in 2003 at Halter Marine, a prominent U.S. shipyard known for OSV construction, the vessel was purpose-built to support offshore subsea and saturation diving operations in the Gulf of Mexico.

The vessel is equipped with DP2 dynamic positioning capability, allowing it to maintain precise station-keeping without anchoring — a critical function for saturation diving and subsea construction support work. With azimuth thruster propulsion and bow thruster assistance, the C HERO is highly maneuverable in challenging offshore conditions.

As an offshore diving support vessel, the C HERO is equipped to support saturation diving systems, ROV operations, and subsea inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) activities typical of deepwater Gulf of Mexico operations.

Data Notice: Some specification figures (tonnage, dimensions, propulsion details) are sourced from publicly available vessel databases (MarineTraffic, Equasis, USCG).
