Vessel Description

Sleipnir is the world's largest semi-submersible crane vessel (SSCV) and is owned and operated by DEME Group subsidiary Heerema Marine Contractors. The vessel is equipped with two revolving cranes, each with a lifting capacity of 10,000 tonnes, providing a combined maximum lift capacity of 20,000 tonnes at a 42-metre radius. The vessel is designed for the installation and decommissioning of large offshore structures, subsea construction, and heavy lift operations in the offshore energy sector, including both oil and gas platforms and offshore wind foundations. Named after the mythological eight-legged horse of the Norse god Odin, Sleipnir operates under DNV GL class notation and meets the most stringent offshore operational standards. The vessel features accommodation for up to 400 personnel and incorporates an integrated living quarters module with full operational support facilities.
