Vessel Description
The vessel is a dedicated oceanographic and marine research platform operated by JAMSTEC, Japan's premier deep-sea research organization. The vessel is designed to support a broad range of scientific missions including seafloor surveys, water column sampling, biological and chemical oceanography, and deployment of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and other scientific instrumentation. As a modern research vessel built in 2017, she incorporates dynamic positioning capability to maintain precise station-keeping during sensitive scientific operations. The vessel supports multi-disciplinary research teams and is equipped for extended offshore campaigns in deep oceanic environments across the Pacific region.
