Vessel Description
LNG MEGREZ is a large membrane-type LNG carrier operating under the Hong Kong flag, built at the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding yard in China — one of the world's leading builders of LNG vessels. The vessel is part of China's expanding national LNG fleet and is associated with China LNG Shipping (International) Co., Ltd. (CLNG), a joint venture established to support China's growing LNG import requirements.
The vessel features a GTT Mark III Flex membrane containment system with a cargo capacity of approximately 174,000 m³, placing her among the larger conventional LNG carriers in service. She is primarily deployed on long-haul LNG import routes serving Chinese receiving terminals, sourcing cargoes from Australia, the Middle East, and other major LNG export regions.
Named after the star Megrez (Delta Ursae Majoris) in the constellation Ursa Major, the vessel follows a star-naming convention used within the CLNG fleet.
