Vessel Description
The Samson Explorer is an Australian-flagged offshore survey and geophysical research vessel built in 1984 in Poland. The vessel has operated extensively in support of offshore energy exploration and hydrographic survey activities throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Operating under the Fugro group, she has been employed in geophysical, geotechnical, and oceanographic survey work across the Indo-Pacific region. The vessel is equipped for extended offshore operations and is capable of conducting a range of subsea survey and data acquisition tasks typical of the offshore energy sector. As a mature vessel built in the early 1980s, she represents a class of dedicated survey tonnage that served the offshore industry during a significant period of hydrocarbon exploration activity in Australian and Southeast Asian waters.
