Vessel Description

EUGEN MAERSK is a large container vessel built by the Danish shipyard Odense Steel Shipyard and delivered to Maersk Line in 2006. At the time of her delivery, she was among the largest container ships in the world, belonging to the Emma Mæersk class, a series of eight sister vessels. She is registered in Singapore and operates primarily on the Asia–Europe trade corridor. The vessel is powered by a MAN B&W 12-cylinder two-stroke diesel engine, one of the most powerful marine diesel engines ever built at the time of installation. The Emma Maersk class represented a significant milestone in container shipping, introducing advancements in fuel efficiency, capacity, and vessel scale that influenced subsequent generations of ultra-large container vessels.
