Vessel Description
The Maersk Batur is a Post-Panamax container vessel operated by Maersk Line, one of the world's leading container shipping companies. Built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, South Korea, and delivered in 2009, she belongs to a class of large container ships designed for high-capacity intercontinental trade routes. Registered in Singapore and flying the Singaporean flag, the vessel is primarily deployed on the Asia–Europe corridor, one of the busiest and most commercially significant container trade lanes in the world. With a capacity of approximately 8,450 TEU and a service speed of 24.5 knots, she is powered by a large MAN B&W two-stroke slow-speed diesel engine driving a single fixed-pitch propeller. The vessel is fully equipped with GMDSS, LRIT, and Class A AIS systems in compliance with international maritime regulatory requirements under SOLAS and IMO conventions.
