Vessel Description

Maersk Antares is a large Post-Panamax container vessel built at the Odense Steel Shipyard in Denmark, one of the final series of vessels delivered from that renowned Danish facility before its closure. The vessel operates under the Singapore flag and is part of the A.P. Møller – Mærsk fleet, one of the world's largest container shipping operators. With a capacity of approximately 9,580 TEU and a deadweight of over 115,000 metric tons, she is configured for high-volume east-west trade routes, primarily the Asia–Europe corridor. Her twin-hull reinforced construction and large diesel plant are characteristic of Maersk's S-Class and comparable series built during the mid-2000s expansion period of container shipping. The vessel is equipped with full GMDSS communications and modern navigational technology consistent with international SOLAS requirements.
