Vessel Description

The Cidade Ouro Preto is a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit operating in the ultra-deepwater pre-salt Santos Basin offshore Brazil. The vessel is part of Petrobras's strategic pre-salt production program and operates in the highly productive Lula field, one of the largest deepwater oil discoveries in the Western Hemisphere. As an FPSO, the unit receives hydrocarbons from subsea wells via risers and flowlines, processes and separates oil, gas, and water aboard, stores crude oil in its cargo tanks, and periodically offloads to shuttle tankers. The unit is permanently moored and not engaged in conventional navigation. Cidade Ouro Preto plays a significant operational role within Brazil's national energy production infrastructure under the management of Petrobras.
