Project Overview

Location: The Noshiro Port Offshore Wind Farm is situated in the Sea of Japan (East Sea), off the coast of Akita Prefecture, Japan.

Developer: The project was developed by Akita Offshore Wind Corporation (AOW), a special purpose company established jointly by several partners including Marubeni Corporation, Obayashi Corporation, Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc., Cosmo Eco Power Co., Ltd., The Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc., Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc., and others.
Ownership: The project is co-owned by multiple companies, each holding a 10% stake. These include Akimoku Steel Casting, Chubu Electric Power, Cosmo Eco Power, Kanpu, Kato Construction, Kyouwa Oil, Marubeni, Obayashi, The Kansai Electric Power, and Tohoku Sustainable & Renewable Energy.

Turbines: The wind farm features 20 Vestas V117-4.2 MW wind turbines, each with a nameplate capacity of 4.2 MW. These turbines have a rotor diameter of 117 meters and are installed on fixed foundations using monopile structures.
Total Nominal Power: The total nominal power of the Noshiro Port Offshore Wind Farm is 84 MW (uprated turbines).
