The P&O PIONEER is a modern Ro-Pax (Roll-on/Roll-off Passenger) ferry delivered in 2023 as part of P&O Ferries' fleet renewal program under the ownership of DP World. The vessel is one of the most significant new builds introduced to the Dover–Calais short-sea route in recent years.

The ship is notable for its dual-fuel LNG propulsion system, making it one of the more environmentally advanced ferries operating on the English Channel, significantly reducing SOx, NOx, and CO2 emissions compared to conventional heavy fuel oil-powered vessels.
