Vessel Description

Originally built in 1979 by Harland & Wolff in Belfast for the British Rail Sealink service, the vessel served as a ferry on the North Sea route between Harwich and Hook of Holland. The vessel gained notable historical recognition during the 1982 Falklands War when she was requisitioned by the British Ministry of Defence and converted for use as a troopship and subsequently as a helicopter platform, participating in the amphibious landings at San Carlos Water. Following the conflict, the vessel returned to commercial service before being sold and reflagged multiple times. She is configured as a Ro-Ro vessel with drive-through vehicle decks and retains bow and stern loading capability, making her suited for cargo and vehicle transport operations along West African coastal routes.
